Marianne Williamson is such a huge inspiration.
She’s a teacher, author and more recently a politician.
I remember the first ever quote I read from her.
It was from her book: Return to Love (and wow what a book that is…)
It left chills down my spine:
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves,
‘Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?’
Actually, who are you not to be?
Your playing small does not serve the world.
There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you.
We are all meant to shine, as children do.
It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”
W.O.W.
Anybody else get the shivers?
I think this quote really resonates with me because it’s something I see every week.
I see beautifully talented souls who remain stuck because at some level, they fear their own success.
There’s something holding them back.
Marianne said:
“Your playing small does not serve the world.”
It’s so true isn’t it.
How is staying in a job that’s not fulfilling us, that’s wasting our talents & true zone of genius in anyway a good thing?
How is staying in our comfort zone in any way comfortable? (isn’t it more than anything frustrating?)
And how is taking the ‘safe option’ in any way serving our bigger purpose on the planet?
There is SO MUCH opportunity out there, and the only thing that stops us from taking the plunge is that we get in our own way.
So today I would like to thank Marianne for her words of wisdom.
And I invite you to cast your eyes over a few more words of wisdom from this incredibly inspiring woman.
Who knows it might just be enough to spark the action you need to move forward towards doing something really meaningful with your life.
To find your purpose & passion!
A decision can be made in a heartbeat you know.
I see it all the time.
All it takes is one tiny decision…and then BOOM! You’re off!
Now over to Marianne…Enjoy 🙂

Marianne Williamson has changed my life.
Oh my god. Me too; Marianne Williamson is changing my life every day.
Very Good Quote Love To Read And Love To World!
How beautiful and profound. Thank you!
I am so moved by your philosophy of life. I have shared with many people who I saw that were afraid to be all they can be. Thank you for giving me words and not tears nor a bandaid to heal the world.
A SPIN on a Marianne quote: “The thinking mind which stores away imagery says, peace is distant, but will appear as soon as I’m done with my busywork of restructuring memorized information. Uh, right now It seems somehow hidden. As I pause the mental machine, I begin to notice peace all around me as what I am, influencing everything I perceive to the extent I relax and allow it to recreate my perception. How cool! I’ve been right here all along!”
In the moment called now, when not interfered with excessively, everything resolves to a simple statement: “I am here now.” One could then notice that “everyOne” is here now, and that each one refers to themselves in the same simple way: “I”…perhaps not so oddly, also the symbol for “One”. Even in the oft obtuse and cloaked collection of writings called the Bible, such tidbits of gold among the tons of ore matrix are given (such as): ” ‘I’ am the Lord thy God”…(and in another place)…”and there is none else.”
For two millennia, Christianity has grown across the globe, teaching fearful ideas that enslave one to a perceived, conceptual and separate “God”, making those ideas more palatable by including ancient seemingly authoritative writings, voices, visions and healings of the body. The truth about one’s reality does indeed set one free…free from the bondage traditionally imposed upon the “self thought separate”…free from such ideas as have been taught for a very, very long time, far beyond the brief 2000 years of Christianity. We pass these untoward ideas along to our children, indoctrinating them in the ways of accepted and revered bondage, and then wonder why the world we perceive is dysfunctional instead of freely sharing in all things.
As Marianne’s original quote suggested so truly: “Find your peace [reality], and then everything will fall into place [a place influenced by living peace itself].”
Knowing this truth (that we are in no way the lowly selves we had thought) sets aside many revered ideas, starting with the notion that peace and salvation are reserved for tomorrow. Right here, right now, with no change or purification needed, “I am that I am.” I was taught that such an idea is arrogant and blasphemous. What my reality revealed was that admitting this is so, and favoring it over the claims of traditional, millennia-old ideas which have been passed down in religion and society, is true humility. Proclaiming traditional ideas of bondage, passed down to us, is arrogant, and is folly. We have now before us the opportunity…not simply to be free, but to realize we have always been free. To rediscover peace, simply be still a moment regularly…yes, it is that simple. For the moment in which we pause our incessant thinking, feelings adjusting, planning and choosing again and again…there is the peace which is our reality, shining to us freely as it always has, despite our groping in the seeming darkness. Peace is the eternal reality, which from perception’s view could be likened to a default state…except that peace is not a state, for it is so forever, as also you are.
Truth is a two-edged sword. On one edge, we are cut again and again, as we search for peace and respite in books, teachers, institutions and basically anywhere except where it is. On the other edge so to speak, is the simple truth which does not cut, but in fact dissolves the sword and its edges, causing it to till the garden soil instead. Our world often does not appear as a garden of delight simply because we have made ourselves busy trying to avoid getting cut and therefore have not been tilling the soil. But alas, all is not lost. Simply park the books, teachers and authorities in the closest receptacle, pause, relax, and let the gardening begin. It surely will…because your reality is surely there (here).
Sometimes I felt like giving up, I couldn’t find my purpose in life. After I found what Marianne has to offer, I feel like a new person and I can make my own decisions. Thank you mam
profound…insightful !
